1. Horrible Coffee
An airport lounge in Akron
So the trip begins
1a. Why did I get here
Three fucking hours early
I wish I could sleep
2. The dawn grows brighter
Fatigue fades to the margin
Excitement sets in
3. Roll down the tarmac
Accelerate, hart racing
The world drops away
4. Over New Jersey
Damn we got here fast. Real fast.
Sure gets the job done…
5. I saw two suns there
One in the sky – the other
Atlantic fire
6. Now I’m in New York
Can’t believe I’m really here
Let the games begin
7. A melting pot, ‘eh?
Looks more a fondue pot –
Everyone’s cookin’
8. I’m an idiot
Walked east across Manhattan
I should have walked west
9. The Expo? Boring
I came here just for brochures?
I want a Guinness
10. Dollar-twenty-five
Vanilla Coke is not beer
But at least it’s wet
11. Five hours to kill
Then the final seminar
Oh, to have a bed!

Life is looking up
