So apparently a big part of what’s keeping me from getting a job right now is that, for most of the stuff I’m applying for, I’m completely overqualified. Yes, that’s right, I said OVERQUALIFIED. Novel concept? Stupid, even? Sad but true. I don’t claim to understand it, only to be affected by it. I can’t get photo work here, so I’m applying for just about everything else that I can find that doesn’t require me to have experience that I don’t have. And almost everything that I can apply for doesn’t need you to have much in the way of experience for, so I look like I’m applying for something far below what I should be able to get. But because I can’t get anything that my photo/desing training applies to right now, I don’t have any choice.
