I forgot about the one short-term-downer of the whole bike thing, though – in order to get my fixed gear rideable and secure, I’ve had to make about $350 in purchases for it and will have to pay about another $50 to get a wheel built up. All worth it in the long run – I’ll save at least a grand in the next year not buying gas – but it still hurts in the short term.
