Redesign in development

So I finally came up with a vaguely decent new site concept. I’m switching the overall organization and focus of things, so it’s going to be very different from what’s there now. I’m trying to make amends with frames, and so far it’s going pretty well. Right now my site is constructed under the single concept of professional photography. With my move to Chicago, though, I need to switch things around. In the new version, upon getting to the portal, you will have the option of going to either of two sites that will run parallel to each other on my server. One will be for assisting work, the other will be for everything else. The assisting site is pretty much already designed and consists of pages for availability, booking, contact, and even online invoice payment through PayPal. The other half of the site, though, is going to take a form that none of my previous sites have had. For once I will have an interdisciplinary site. The basic concept of this will look like this with a few little differences. In the final version, all the menu elements on the left will be image-based and so will look a little nicer. The header image will also be tweaked so it’s a little crisper.

You’ll notice that it’s no longer just photography. It’s photography, design, media theory, and a few other things that I haven’t actually added to the menu yet. I figure, for the next couple years my job is assisting. Because I’m not pushing myself as a professional photographer at the moment, I have a lot more freedom with what I can do with my site. I mean, why not take this site that I’m paying for every month and do something with it that actually reflects all the different things I’m interested in and actively pursuing. Yeah, it’ll take me a while to build up a lot of content, but oh well. You’ve got to start somewhere.
