Me Steed

So there you have it. My new bike. Yes, I realize that it probably doesn’t fit in the text frame and is messing up the formatting of the page some, but oh well – it’s too sexy to make it smaller. <3

So last night riding home I hit a guy’s car. White Ford Explorer behind me. Dude either signaled as he was starting to turn or didn’t signal at all, and either way braked too fast. I tried to swerve left around him but didn’t quite make it, and sort of took out his left tail light with my handlebars. Call it unethical, but in hindsight I wish I had just picked up my bike and sprinted off. Because now I’m going to have to pay for the replacement light. I don’t know how much it’s going to be yet, but I’m hoping I can convince the guy to just buy the part and let me install it. I really don’t want to get fucked on labor charges from some mechanic’s shop.

Totally blah.

In other news, I finally finished the movie Last Life in the Universe. This is another film that Christopher Doyle worked on, and true to style, it was fucking gorgeous. Maybe I’m just in love with his esthetic, but everything he’s done is just gorgeous to me. [For those of you who aren’t familiar, Doyle is a cinematographer, not a director] He is a total inspiration and makes me want to do amazing things with film. And still photography for that matter. He is a fucking visual genius and it pains me that so few people here know about him.

Still no checks here. Now down to $50 in my checking account. People now owe me a total of $2,780. My credit card statement is due in a couple weeks, rent is due in less than a week. My clients are fucking me over and it pisses me off. As in totally and completely pissing me off to the point that I want to hang out in their living rooms at home and generally make a pest of myself until they pay the fuck up and include a little extra to cover my inconvenience.

I have to leave for work in about 3 1/2 hours. It’s about midnight now. I have to be at a photographer’s studio at 4:30, meaning I leave my apartment by 3:30. I took some major naps today as I figured it would be a better idea to stay up and go to the shoot than try to go to bed, get about two hours of sleep, and then get up at 3:00 and spend the shoot half asleep and rather out of it. It should only be about a half day, so I’ll get back home by late morning, probably, and can take a nap or do whatever. Currently no work lined up for Monday, either, so I don’t have to worry too much about being in a weird state then.
